Moulin de Rochereuil

Grand-Brassac

Perched on the banks of the tranquil Dronne, the Moulin de Rochereuil is a jewel in the crown of Périgord milling heritage. With its carved stonework and red-tiled roof, this watermill has a fascinating bucolic charm.

The mill dates back to 1129, making it one of the oldest in the Dronne valley. Over the centuries, it has evolved into a flour mill, a walnut oil mill, a waterworks, etc. In 1937, the commune of Grand-Brassac equipped the site with a turbine and a trough wheel, giving it a second industrial life.

Today, the mill can no longer be visited and activity has ceased, but you can take a break on the banks of the Dronne and dip your feet in the water.
