Église Sainte-Eulalie

SAINT AULAYE-PUYMANGOU

Church of a former 12th century priory, restored in the 19th century with the addition of the south aisle.

Nave with two bays covered by a barrel vault.

Square bell tower rebuilt at the end of the Middle Ages.

The Saintonge-style facade, forechoir, bell tower and chevet date from the Romanesque period.

The bell tower has a defensive system. It is reached by a very narrow spiral staircase carved into the pillar.

The Romanesque capitals on the façade and chevet are very well preserved.
