Petit-bersac
In the Val de Dronne, a few kilometres from Ribérac, the Musée Gallo-Romain de Petit-Bersac presents the history of the archaeological site of Cidène. This village in the Périgord Vert region has been occupied since pre-Roman times, and a number of remarkable remains, including thermal baths and a large sewer, are buried here.
Excavations by archaeologist Jean Pichardie unearthed a wealth of artefacts, which are now on display in the local museum housed in the church outbuildings. Pottery, ceramics, bronzes, ornaments, coins and tools are on display in a vast room equipped with display cases and explanatory panels.
