Église romane Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul de Grand-Brassac

Grand-brassac

The fortress church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul features a nave vaulted with 3 domes on pendentives. Fortified in the 12th century, it has two bell towers.

Construction of this fortified church began around 1140 and was completed in the 13th century. Attacked several times during the Hundred Years’ War and then during the Wars of Religion, it served as a refuge for the inhabitants without ever falling into enemy hands.

The building was listed as a historic monument in 1885.
