Chemins de terre de Harrisson Barker

Saint aulaye-puymangou

“Harrison Barker was a 19th century English traveller and journalist who criss-crossed the South West of France on foot and by canoe. In his book “Two Summers in Guyenne, chronicle of the wayside and waterside”, the explorer recounts his travels in the Dordogne, particularly in the Dronne valley, and relates his experiences in contact with the people of southern France. A new hiking trail, “Barker Double”, created in 2020, allows visitors to discover the Double forest and the Dronne valley, following in Barker’s footsteps.
